Junior High and High School Virtual Academies partner with families and students to provide a safe and fun online learning enrivonment. Students may choose to add one course, or many courses, to their graduation plan making our Virtual Academy a flexible option for all.

Explore Virtual Academy Courses

Military Science

Military Science is an a-g elective course offered through our Virtual Academy program. Students will enroll in the California Cadet Corps and participate in state-wide events and competitions. Students in grades 7-12 will develop leadership, patriotism, and academic excellence through this exciting class!

Academic Decathlon

The HSVA Academic Decathlon course is a yearlong elective that prepares students for both the Regional and State Academic Decathlon Competitions. Guided by a coach, students will engage in a variety of activities, including multiple-choice exams in subjects like Art, Economics, Science, and Literature, as well as essay writing, speeches, interviews, and a public Super Quiz. This flexible course is designed to fit students' schedules with meetings via Zoom or in-person, depending on the region. The top three students from the highest-scoring team in the regional competition will advance to the State Competition in Sacramento.
